McDonald's store helps group buy holiday gifts
On Tuesday, McDonald's customers gave back by dining.
The location near 27th and Vine streets donated 20 percent of their sales that evening to the Lincoln Giving Tree.
The Giving Tree said the money will go toward helping them fund the toy drive for their Christmas event in two weeks.
The non–profit's founder, Shannon Crellin, said they want to make sure everyone in Lincoln is having a great holiday.
"Sometimes parents fall on hard times and it's not the children's fault," Crellin said. "Christmas should be a magical time for little kids — or whatever holiday it is that people are celebrating — and we would like to help them provide that."
Lincoln Giving Tree said they're a group focused on helping families who have fallen on hard times.
