The Roughriders, a local motorcycle group in Lincoln, helped deliver a generous donation this afternoon.

They surprised a family in need in front of their home.

"I didn't know anything about it, I just thought we were having friends over to eat and I was in the bedroom when I heard the motorcycles and I thought, "Oh what the heck, and I knew something was up," said Daniel Renaud, recipient of the donation.

The Renaud family has gone through a difficult few years after Daniel was diagnosed with Carcinoid cancer in his intestines back in 2016.

Since then, he has been hospitalized over 200 times, which has caused a strain on the family of five.

The medical bills were piling up and Daniel's wife Tabetha was beginning to worry if she would be able to buy her children Christmas presents.

She says Saturday's donation of $1,000 dollars is a lifesaver.

"It's huge and it's a game changer. It completely makes them able to have a normal Christmas," said Tabetha Renaud.

The donation comes from the Roughriders, who help a hand full of families each holiday season.

"It's awesome, it makes you humble and it makes you realize you're pretty fortunate in what you have and hopefully we can make this families day a little brighter on the holiday," said Jeff Barnes, President of the Roughriders.
