OMAHA, Neb. (AP)  Authorities say a man was killed in a shooting in Omaha, and an ambulance crashed into a pickup on its way to the scene.

Omaha police responded to the shooting shortly before 6 p.m. on Thursday. The unidentified victim was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Authorities say the ambulance was crossing through a red light with its lights and sirens activated when it struck a 1998 Ford F-150 pickup. The pickup driver, 62-year-old Robert D. Hollis of Omaha, was ejected, and the pickup hit a street light. Hollis was not wearing a seat belt.

Authorities say Hollis was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening head injuries. Ambulance driver Anthony Brummet and passenger Justin Cooley of the Omaha Fire Department were not injured.
