100 Soldiers Leave For Iraq
Another large contingent of Nebraska National Guard soldiers is headed for Operation Iraqi Freedom. The 67th area support group, based here in Lincoln, was given quite a send-off Wednesday at State Fair Park. The group of about 125 soldiers will do behind the scenes logistics work and won't be on the battle-front. Governor Heineman and other dignitaries were among those on hand. This unit will now head for Fort Riley, Kansas, and training before being assigned. Approximately 700 Nebraska's Army National Guard force has now been mobilized in Iraq, Kuwait or Afganistan.
