250 Head Of Cattle Found Dead

A Fremont man is trying to figure out exactly what happened to his 250 cattle that were found dead April 27th. Jack Barta says the cattle were poisoned. Though he doesn't know if it was done accidentally or intentionally. The Nebraska State Patrol was investigating with the Colfax county Sheriff's Office, the State Department of Agriculture, and the University Of Nebraska. Lab tests are needed to confirm the type of poison used. Barta estimates his loss at $138,000.
