5-Thousand Dollars Donated To Local Community Center
Attorney General Jon Bruning visited a local community center on Wednesday, and he brought a big check with him. Bruning presented the 5-thousand dollar donation to the Rape/Spouse Abuse Crisis Center in Lincoln. The money comes from a class-action lawsuit the state was involved in. The donation is part of a 45-thousand dollar settlement the state received for participating in a class action lawsuit against Salton Inc., which was accused of fixing prices on the popular George Foreman grill. The check is one of nine Attorney General Bruning will deliver to seven community centers across the state over the next two days. The one stipulation with the settlement? The money has to go to charities. At the Rape/Spouse Abuse Center the money will go towards providing food for abuse victims in the community.
