6 Nebraska cities to share nearly $2 million in grants

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ Six Nebraska communities will receive $1.9 million in grants to help them pay for various public works projects.

The Nebraska Department of Economic Development recently announced the grants to Alma, Elwood, Genoa, Loup City, Pleasanton and Wolbach.

Alma will use $350,000 to help pay for paving and sewer pipe projects.

Elwood will receive $350,000 to help build a 3,500-square-foot library.

Genoa will receive $303,700 to update and enlarge bathrooms and kitchens, so it can comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Loup City will get $350,000 to help pay for a paving project.

Pleasanton will receive $220,030 to help with storm drainage and paving projects.

Wolbach will get $278,400 to build a 5,500-square-foot community center.
