UPDATE: Windstream Communications says the issue with call service in Lincoln has been resolved. All phone calls to the 911 center in Lincoln will be received. A Windstream spokesman says they've pinpointed the problem and correct it.  He said the dropped calls affected the Lincoln area, and not just calls to the 911 center. The problem was resolved at around 10:30.

For about an hour, many citizens received a recorded “all circuits are busy” message or their calls were dropped during transmission. Lincoln residents with emergencies were advised to go to the nearest fire station for assistance.
