A Possible Strike May Be InThe Forecast For Alltel Workers In Nebraska

Hundreds of Alltel workers in southeast Nebraska are preparing to strike, if they don't get a new contract deal. The union president says they're asking for better health care after retirement. The new proposal calls for some retirees leaving the company after 2007, to pay all but 17 dollars a month of their medical benefit costs. An Alltel spokesperson says the company has proposed a contract that's fair to employees, shareholders, and customers.
