A Soldier From Nebraska Is Now Facing Murder Charges

Army prosecutors have charged two Fort Riley soldiers, one with Nebraska ties, with two counts of pre-meditated murder. Sergeants Aaron Stanley of Bismarck, North Dakota, and Eric Colvin of Papillion, are being held in the Geary County Jail, pending a military trial. They're charged with the September shooting deaths of 30-year-old Staff Sergeant Matthew Werner, and 23-year-old Specialist Christopher Hymer. All four soldiers were assigned to the First Battalion, 41st Infantry. Stanley and Colvin are also charged with distribution of marijuana, methamphetamines and use of the drugs.
