Alcohol not for sale morning of July 4th

Lincoln stores won't be able to sell alcohol during the morning of the 4th of July.

The holiday falls on a Sunday and some people wanted the city to make a change for that day, so alcohol could also be sold from 6 a.m. to noon.

The Lincoln City Council withdrew the motion because of some delays with paperwork.  The council did say it'll might re–study the issue and see if the law should be changed to allow liquor sales on all Sunday mornings
