Americruise Changes Route for This Weekend

Car enthusiasts are gearing up for this weekend's Americruise. It's the third year in a row Americruise has been in Lincoln. But this year because of O street's construction the route will be a little different. More than 2-thousand classic cars from around the country will drive 18 miles through about 17 of Lincoln's neighborhoods.

Over 40-thousand spectators are expected this year, and the event has a huge impact on Lincoln, bringing in close to three million dollars. In addition, spectators will enjoy seeing pre 1964 cars and pre 1973 trucks.

The new parade route will start at the fairgrounds and head out to Cornhusker highway. Some of the best places to view the cars and trucks are on Havelock, Vine Street, Capital Parkway, Normal and 70th street.
