Annual Boo at the Zoo event kicks off

Get your costume, it's that time of year again for Boo at the Zoo!

It kicks off at 5:30 tonight.  Boo at the Zoo is known for being a merry, not scary time for kids to trick or treat.  It's six dollars to get in and you're encouraged to wear your costumes.

The event grows every year and the money raised goes to help feed the animals in the winter.

“It has gotten bigger,” President and CEO John Chapo said.  “You know when Boo and the Zoo started out back in the 70s, there were four booths…now there are 40.  It has multiplied.  We've got more groups involved, more people involved, more kids involved because it is a guaranteed safe place.”

The Halloween celebration runs through Tuesday from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Treat bags are three dollars at the door and the train will be running for rides.

Parking will be available at Lincoln High School.  Star Tran will be shuttling people back and forth for free.
