Another Group of Reservists Here in Nebraska are Called to Active Duty
On Thursday, twelve soldiers of the 10-12th Quartermaster Company in Fremont will say their good byes as they head for Fort Riley Kansas for at least one year. From there no one knows where they will go, but heading over seas is not ruled out. Before they leave, the Fremont community will present the unit with a Nebraska State Flag to carry with them during their mission.
The 89th Regional Support Command has more than 12-thousand volunteers scattered across the four states of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. They expect to be gone for at least one year but there's always a chance it could be longer than that. By the end of the month, more than 100-thousand reservists are expected to be deployed.
