Anti-Gambling Group Holds Lincoln Rally
A religious coalition against expanded gambling in Nebraska gained some momentum Thursday. A group of six denominations held a rally in Lincoln showing their opposition to proposed gambling initiatives slated to be on the November ballot. The group, which formed in Omaha last month, signed an anti-gambling statement, and then many of them spoke out against it.
One gambling initiative on the ballot was passed by the Legislature this spring. It would allow two casinos anyplace in the state. The other, following a successful petition drive, would legalize two casinos in Omaha.
