Appliance dealers say rebate program keeping them busy

It's a deal a number of Nebraskans were not about to miss out on. The Nebraska Energy Efficient Rebate program began Tuesday.

Many Nebraskans were out visiting their local appliance dealers.

“It would save water, it would save energy and quite honestly we needed a new one so this just kind of pushed us over the edge,” said one customer at Schaefer's in Lincoln.

Customers are taking advantage of the rebate program getting anywhere from $100 to $250 back for energy efficient appliances.

Customers packed the store, hoping to get their hands on a piece of the $1.5 allocated to Nebraska in an attempt to further stimulate the economy, all while encouraging consumers to buy green.
