Armstrong Jr. Named to Davey O’Brien Award Watch List
Nebraska senior quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. was selected as one of the 30 players on the 2016 Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award Watch List released Thursday morning. The Davey O’Brien Award is presented annually to the nation’s top quarterback.

Armstrong, who is looking to become Nebraska’s first O’Brien Award winner since Eric Crouch in 2001, is one of five Big Ten quarterbacks on the watch list. The O’Brien Award Watch list is the second preseason list Armstrong has been selected for as he was also named to the Maxwell Award watch list released earlier this month.

The watch lists for national awards will continue to be announced through July 15.
