Police have made an arrest in Thursday's attempted kidnapping. But they now say he wasn't trying to take the girls. 19-year-old Dalton Gilsdorf was arrested for trespassing and unlawful entry of a vehicle after his Grandma contacted police Thursday morning.

Police say he wasn't trying to snatch 2 young girls in an SUV sitting in their driveway, rather they say he wanted the car.

“Based on the information that we have at this time, we don't believe that it was a kidnapping,” Officer Katie Flood said.

“He was messing with my daughters car seat so initial impressions from we was he was trying to take my kid. Because he wasn't going for the ignition or anything and I had the keys,” Father Craig Sindelar said.

Sindelar says saw the suspect after his the 4-year-old screamed for help. They said they've been teaching her about stranger danger.
