Aunt charged with kidnapping after Amber Alert

Nathanial Mundahl

The aunt of a Genoa boy featured in an Amber Alert has been charged with kidnapping and theft.

Jennifer Mundahl was arrested Saturday, 12 hours after authorities say she took off with the 4-year-old in his parents' minivan.

Mundahl is being held in the Platte County jail on $200,000 bond. The boy was under the care of his grandmother when he was abducted, sometime between 11 p.m. Friday and 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

The Nance County sheriff's office says he and Mundahl were spotted at a Hastings convenience store about noon Saturday. Workers there alerted police. Charges against Mundahl were filed Thursday. She's due in court on Monday, her 26th birthday. Court records don't list her attorney and jail officials didn't have that information.
