A 16–year–old Lincoln boy will get a talking–to from a city fire investigator after fessing up to accidentally setting fire to his family's garage Saturday.

Fire inspector “Tony” Chapp said the teen admitted to finding a lighter while cleaning the garage, in the 400 block of North 25th street yesterday and testing it on a pencil.

The resulting fire destroyed the garage and damaged nearby trees and power lines before being extinguished by firefighters.

Rather than cite him, Chapp will meet with the boy and his family some time soon.
