BCS Changes System

New BCS formula unveiled (Dallas-AP) — The Bowl Championship Series will rely more on the human element in deciding its bowl participants.

The Associated Press poll will count for one-third of a team's BCS standings.

Another third will be based on the ESPN/USA Today poll, and the final third determined by a pooling of computer rankings.

The BCS formulas of the past have been blasted frequently, especially last season when L-S-U and Southern California finished as co-champions.

The A-P National Champion Trojans didn't get to play in the BCS title game despite being ranked number one in both major polls.
