Beatrice boy taken to hospital for gunshot wound

Gage County authorities say a 14-year-old boy was flown to a Lincoln hospital for treatment of gunshot wound suffered while on a hunt.

The Gage County Sheriff's Office says the boy was shot in the left side of his pelvis by another 14-year-old on Tuesday evening. The two were hunting squirrels. The boy was taken by a medical team to Beatrice Airport, then flown by helicopter to BryanLGH Medical Center West in Lincoln. The sheriff's office says the boy's wound was not believed to be life-threatening.
