Bennet Barn Destroyed In Fire

A barn fire that started Saturday night burned all the way into Sunday. It started at 11:30 Saturday night, near Bennet…just 15 miles East of Lincoln. The fire was so powerful…it continued burning until Sunday afternoon, taking about 100 firefighters several hours to put it out. Becky May and her husbund watched for 12 hours as their barn burned to the ground. The structure of the building is completely gone, as is much expensive equipment and feed…adding up to more than 600,000 dollars in damages. Their were no injuries to people or livestock. It's not known what caused the fire, but because of the amount of hay and alfalfa in the barn it's likely to burn for several days.
