Big country show rolls into Lincoln

Country music was rocking in the Capital City.

Thursday afternoon brought out Kenny Chesney's fans in full force. They're known as the “No Shoes Nation” fans and they love their superstar.

This was Debbie Uttechid's 11th Chesney concert this year.

Uttechid said, "Everything, him, the crowd, the concert, it's all awesome!"

Then there's Dawn Peetz who calls herself Chesney's most loyal fan. She says she’s been waiting for this concert since she bought tickets in February.

Peetz said, "Its high energy, everybody is excited they know every song it's kind of like he doesn't have to sing a whole lot because everybody sings along, the crowd participation is great."

Thursday night's concert is the first time the country superstar has been back to Nebraska since the State Fair in 2002.

The city expected so many people there were two separate pre–parties set up.

One spot even blocked off streets in the Railyard for the “No Shoes Nation” to party on.

Kenny Chesney fans, Elaine Streily & Michelle Marschman like the idea of the streets being blocked off telling Channel 8 Eyewitness News, "Best idea ever it's safer for people to walk around and not have to worry about cars."

Lincoln is the 40th stop for Chesney's Big Revival Tour.

He has 17 shows left finishing up at the end of August.
