Big Red Baseballers Sweep Wildcats

Lincoln–Drew Anderson's fifth-inning 3-run homerun broke a 7-7 tie and proved to be the game-winner as the Nebraska baseball team went on to post an 11-9 win over Kansas State to earn a three-game conference sweep.

The Huskers fell behind 6-1 when KSU hit two two-out three-run homeruns.  Mike Anderson's crew quickly cut the five-run deficit to one with a four-run third.  A five-run fifth, highlighted by Anderson's first homerun of the season gave the home team a 10-7 lead.

Freshman pitcher Tim Schoninger improved his record to 1-1 after surrendering three runs on eight hits in 4 and 2/3 innings of work.

The Huskers are now 14-6 overall, 4-2 in the Big 12.
