Big Red Rookies Take Part In First NU Practice

Lincoln–The newest crop of Nebraska football players got their first true taste of the Big Red on Wednesday.  In the morning, the young guns went through performance testing and position drills inside Cook Pavilion.  “It's a really good group, easy group to coach,” said NU head coach Frank Solich.  “Right now, they're very attentive and willing to learn and waiting to get things done; so, so far, so good.”

In the afternoon, Coach Solich and his staff put the players through their first official practice on the Memorial Stadium field turf.  Following the hour-and-a-half workout, freshman offensive lineman Kurt Mann spoke about kicking off his Husker career.  “Had my mind set on this for a long time and just think about it alot.  It's good to finally get it started.  It's like a dream come true for all of us I think and it's a good feeling to finally realize your dreams.”
