Bill Could Decide The Number of Bars in Lincoln

There's a bill being heard in a committee hearing that would give the Nebraska Liquor Commission a stronger voice in who gets a new liquor license.

For example, the commission could look at how many businesses in an area are already selling liquor and examine if the availability of liquor is creating a problem.

The bill would not affect businesses that already have liquor licenses- only new applications.

The proposed bill is supported by Lincoln Police Chief Tom Cassady.
