Sports AnchorEmail Kelsie
Kelsie grew up in Munster, Indiana, about 30 miles south of Chicago, where she played travel softball and enjoyed going to White Sox games with family and friend. She knew she wanted to be a sports broadcaster at a very early age. “I remember watching sports with my dad and seeing these women on the screen interviewing the players and thought how that must be the coolest job ever”.
Her drive to be a sports reporter took her to Butler University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in sports media. Kelsie gained a lot of experience while in school by taking advantage of internships that helped her gain broadcast experience. She was the sideline reporter for the Northwest Indiana Oilmen, a local summer baseball team. She also interned in the sports department at WMAQ NBC5, Chicago and at and at WTHR Channel 13, Indianapolis. Also, during her junior year, she spent a semester in New York City interning for the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. About her position as sport anchor with Channel 8 Eyewitness News Sports, Kelsie says, “I have a passion for college sports, and I couldn’t be in a better place than Lincoln to cover that! Covering sports has been a dream of mine since I was little, and I can’t wait to tell the stories of Lincoln sports to the people of Nebraska.”
In her spare time, she loves spending time with friends and family. She enjoys watching sports, trying new restaurants and breweries, working out, and cheering on her Dawgs (Butler University Bulldogs).
