A 30-year old man is stabbed to death in a Northeast Lincoln neighborhood. It happened just before 6 o'clock Friday morning near north 59th and Madison. Police have identified the victim as Benjamin Miller.  They say another man is facing charges of second degree murder. Police say 27-year-old Joshua Albright has been arrested in the stabbing. We have also confirmed with police that the victim was a sex offender.

In this northeast Lincoln neighborhood, the sights and sounds of police sirens shatters the early morning calm.

“We heard the sirens going off and we looked outdoors to try and see if they were in front of our yard. And see if we knew which neighbor it was,” Neighbor Cathy Torske said.

Police say just before six o'clock Friday morning, officers were called to north 59th and Madison where they found 30-year-old Benjamin Miller lying in the street.  They say he had multiple stab wounds and later died at the hospital.

They say 27-year-old Joshua Albright was still there when they arrived. He too was taken to the hospital, but with minor injuries.

“There may have been an argument between the two males and there was a female that was apart of this, so we're kind of trying to piece things together. It appears as though it wasn't a completely stranger incident,” Police Chief Jim Peschong said.

A quick check into Miller's past reveals that he is a registered sex offender. According to the registry website, Miller was convicted in 2003 of attempted first degree sexual assault. However police are not saying if this has anything to do with the stabbing. At any rate, the news of a man's death has neighbors on edge.

“Definitely, I'll keep a closer eye out on the neighbors,” Torske said.

Joshua Albright is facing charges of second degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
