Bruce Homers For Second-Straight Day

Lincoln–Daniel Bruce went 2-5 and homered for the second-straight game to help lead the Nebraska baseball team to a 6-0 win over Cal-Poly.   Bruce, who filled in for injured All-American  centerfield Jeff Leise in the Huskers two-game series with the Mustangs, gave NU a 2-0 lead with a solo homerun to lead off the 6th inning.

Nebraska has now won five-straight games and will return to Big 12 play this weekend with a 3-game series in Norman, Oklahoma against a Sooners program that has lost 15 of its last 18 games against the Huskers.

Just across the walkway, the Nebraska softball team was also victorious on Wednesday.  NU shortstop Amanda Buccholz broke a 2-2 tie with a 2-run homerun in the 5th inning.  The Huskers added another run in the 6th and went on to down Creighton 5-2.  Rhonda Revelle's squad will hots Texas this weekend at Bowlin Stadium.
