Bubba’s Closet helps hundreds of families

Children around Lincoln are now ready for winter thanks to Bubba's Closet. Today Lincoln Public Schools held their annual clothing and coat drive.

Nearly 300 families with elementary-aged children got to pick out winter coats and warm clothing, and it was all free.

“We're about educating the whole child and those basic needs of safety and healthy are so important and it helps us make sure children are prepared for our Nebraska winters,” Fredstrom Elementary School principal Vicki Schulenberg said.

People and businesses around the community donated the clothing. The drive is over now, but if you would like to donate, contact a LPS or an elementary school principal.
