Cancer benefit will be held Saturday for a Lincoln woman

LINCOLN, Neb. You have a chance to help a Lincoln woman battling cancer. Shelley Wagner is going through several round of chemo after unsuccessfully fighting breast cancer which has also spread.
Shelley Wagner was first diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in 2002. After completing her treatment and five years of medication and regular check ups she was cancer free. But in October 2013 she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer which had spread all over her bones and liver.
"It just kind of depends on how my body takes it you know. I’ll take the chemo for around roughly a year and then the cancer gets smarter than the chemo so then it comes back. Then they switch it to a different kind of chemo." Said Shelley Wagner, Cancer Patient
She says she’s on her fourth type of chemo treatment. And unfortunately she’ll be doing this for the rest of her life.
"You just want to be strong for Shelley. And try to make her be able to get out and enjoy life to the fullest still and still go to the concerts she likes to do." Said Kristy Brice, friend of Shelley
"I’m still working Monday through Thursday. And then about the only other way to get me out of the house is a concert. I’m just, it’s too tiring for me." Wagner said
Shelley’s friends will be holding a fundraiser tomorrow at the garage sports bar and grill on 48th and highway 2. Which will be open for everyone.
"We have several different raffle items. Anywhere from gift cards to some kind of basket or something or another. We have two TV’s that we have a different raffle for those. We are going to have a silent auction." Said Brice
She’s already been getting donations from friends in the community and she tells us how this makes her feel.
"So blessed. I just can’t believe all the community support community has shown for me already." Wagner said
Again the benefit will be at the Garage Sports Bar and Grill on 48th and Highway 2 from noon to 4 tomorrow. It’s 8 dollars a person and food and drinks will be served.
