Candle Light Vigil To Be Held For Landfill Baby

Some York residents plan to hold a candlelight service in memory of a baby whose remains were found at the York landfill.    Volunteers have placed a temporary memorial in an empty town lot, and the service will be held there Thursday evening.

Court records suggest the remains may be those of a stillborn child tossed in the trash by a York teenager.  Records say the teen gave birth to a stillborn girl on Jan. 26.

She put the body in a trash bag and placed it in an outside trash receptacle.  An autopsy has been performed, but the results have not been released.

The investigation is continuing, and no arrest has been reported.
