Car-vs-pedestrian crash kills Lincoln man

Lincoln Police have released the name of a man killed in a car-pedestrian accident early Saturday morning.
LPD Capt. Doug Srb says 60-year-old Douglas Embree was hit by a car after attempting to cross O Street between 27th and 28th streets. It happened around 5:15 a.m. Srb says witnesses told police that Embree, who is a transient, was crossing O from the south. Srb says the driver of a westbound car thought Embree looked like he was stopping on the median, then suddenly darted into the westbound lane. He died from his injuries.
