Casey’s General Store robbed at gunpoint

A masked robber stole approximately $13 worth of tobacco products from a Casey’s General Store on 9th and South Streets, police say.

Around 2 a.m. Sunday morning, a 49-year-old store clerk reported the store was robbed at gunpoint. The clerk said the assailant, wearing a black ski mask, walked into the store, approached the counter and pointed a black gun, demanding money from the register.

The clerk backed up and locked himself in a room, during which time the robber left with the tobacco products.

Witnesses described the robber as a male standing between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-7, wearing a black ski mask, grey hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up under a tan Carhartt style coat, red ‘jogger’ pants with white stripes down the side, black shoes, and wearing a black backpack.
