Channel 8 KLKN-TV Salutes The Firefighter of the Month for September

Channel 8 KLKN-TV and Lincoln Mattress and Furniture congratulate the September Firefighter of the Month, Fire Apparatus Operator Bob Watton.

FAO Bob Watton started his 7 1/2 year career with Lincoln Fire & Rescue on  1-31-97 as a recruit Firefighter and assigned to Station 3, E3 and has served at  various stations.  He was promoted to FAO on 10-02-02.   FAO Watton currently serves as a Fire Apparatus Operator at
Station 8, Truck 8.

 FAO Watton is the Firefighter of the month, for his work ethic, fire service knowledge, and the dedication he has put forth in his work and to the citizens of Lincoln.   FAO Watton has received many awards during his career.  Some of those include the Unit Performance Award, 1,000 Point Club, Certificate of Appreciation, Unit Performance Award, and Certificate of Commendation

He has volunteered many hours of hard work and dedication in this position, and assists with the team's large cache before and after deployments, and makes sure everything is ready to go out the door for the next deployment. This is no small task considering the many pieces of equipment that is in the cache.  Bob has been deployed to Haysville KS – Debruce Grain elevator explosion, and to Salt Lake City, Olympics as standby.

During Emergency Operations, Bob can be relied upon to effectively protect the safety of the citizens and Fire Department personnel.  He has attended numerous training programs and continuing education opportunities, to ensure that he possesses up to date Fire Service knowledge. FAO Watton can always be relied upon to get the job done.
