Chlorine leak sends four people to hospital

Four people were taken to hospitals after a chlorine leak at the Archer-Daniels-Midland plant near 5th and South Streets.

It happened at around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.  Emergency crews were called to the ADM plant after reports of a chlorine leak from a tank.  LFR Battalion Chief Pat Borer said four people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Three were taken to St. Elizabeth's Regional Medical Center and one patient was taken to BryanLGH West.   The plant was evacuated.  The leak was contained.
