City Council Considers Drinking Ordinance

Lincoln's four city golf courses are battling with more than just the cold temperatures. The City Council is considering an ordinance to allow alcohol on Lincoln's public courses. Right now the only place to get a beer is in the club house. But when you're ready to tee-off the beer has to stay behind. So far, the ordinance is getting mixed reviews. Those against the new ordinance fear that alcohol could spill over into nearby parks. Those for the drinking say the city loses money because most tournaments go to private courses that allow alcohol. The council is expected to act on this ordinance in the next few weeks.
