Both Pius X and Lincoln Northeast baseball teams made the finals of the High School State Baseball Tournament, but neither legion team could repeat that run in the Mike Peterson Baseball Tournament.

Kearney Runza 7, Union Bank (Pius X) 3

After playing even through the first three innings, Kearney Runza outscored Union Bank 5-1 in the final 4 frames.

Union Bank struck early thanks to an RBI single by Derek Meyer.

After giving up the lead in the second, Union Bank responded with another run as Jared Kobush's single up the box scored Rex Raetz.

Union Bank finished the Mike Peterson Tournament winning the Americal League West division and compiled a 4-1 record.

Associated Fire (Papio-South) 4, Judds Brothers (Lincoln Northeast) 3

After giving up 4 runs in the early going, Judds Brothers nearly staged a late inning comeback against Associated Fire.

With one on the the fifth, Jacob Wells sparked a rally thanks to a stand-up triple. Ollie Hodges would drive in Wells on a sacrifice bunt that he beat out at first. Later in the frame wit hthe bases loaded, super state selection Jordan Schroer poked the offering into right field scoring two runs and cutting the lead to one run.

Judds Brothers would have a final chance in the sixth. With the tying run on third, Colby McPike bounced out to second to end the threat.

Judds Brothers finished the Mike Peterson Tournament winning the National League East division and compiling a 3-2 record.
