Clarence Thomas’s Mother-In-Law Passes Away In Lincoln

Marjorie M. Lamp, mother-in-law of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, has died at the age of 91. The obituary from John A. Gentleman Mortuaries obituary says she died Thursday in Lincoln, Neb. Her husband, Donald, still lives in Lincoln.

The couple had spent most of their 69 years together living in Omaha. Born Marjorie Knop, she grew up in Iowa. Her daughter Ginni Lamp Thomas of Fairfax Station, Va., told the Omaha World-Herald that her mother's “greatest pride and joy came from any of her family members.'' Lamp is also survived by her sons, Russell, of Flowery Branch, Ga.; and William, of Columbia, Md.; her other daughter, Joanne Elliott, of Lincoln; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
