Collier’s Crew Can’t Close Contest With Cowboys

Lincoln–The Nebraska men's basketball team just couldn't quite close the door on 13th-ranked Oklahoma State on Wednesday night and the Cowboys left Lincoln with a 77-70 Big 12 victory.

The Huskers led by as many as 7 in the first half and held a 5-point advantage at the intermission at 30-to-25.  The final 20-minutes of play saw the Cowboys outscore their hosts 52-to-40 to improve to 19-3 overall and 8-1 in the conference.

NU senior guard Brennon Clemmons led the Cornhuskers attack with 21 points on 6-8 FG shooting and 8-10 FT shooting.  Nate Johnson added 17.  Junior forward Brian Conklin hit 3 of 9 3-pointers and contributed 12 points off the bench.  Junior forward Andrew Drevo was the fourth Husker in double figures with 10 points.  Sophomore forward John Turek scored 6 points and pulled down a team-high 13 rebounds in the losing effort.
