Darren Delone Found Not Guilty Of Assault

A jury in Norman, Oklahoma has acquitted former Husker lineman Darren Delone of assault charges. The charges stemmed from an incident last year before the Nebraska/Oklahoma game. Delone was accused of pushing and injuring an Oklahoma spirit squad member. Two Oklahoma fans testified it was an accidental collision that hurt the squad member, and that it was a different player, not Delone, who ran into him. The University of Nebraska issued a statement saying they “…regret that the young man was injured…and hope this case will create a dialogue that will define the boundaries between players and spectators.”
