Rivers Out Today with Injury
Lincoln – University of Nebraska senior forward David Rivers will not play against Michigan State this afternoon because of a left knee sprain suffered in practice Thursday night.
Rivers suffered the injury during drill work on Thursday and was examined Friday afternoon where the sprain was confirmed. According to athletic trainer R.J. Pietig, Rivers is expected to miss 1-2 weeks of action.
Rivers, a 6-foot-7 forward who had started NU’s first 18 contests, is averaging 4.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, and had a season-high 13 rebounds against Ohio on Dec. 25.
