The Food Bank of Lincoln in partnership with 47 restaurants at 92 locations will be staging the 23rd Annual Dine Out to Help Out on Wednesday, September 12th. On that day, participating restaurants will donate 10% of the day's receipts to the Food Bank's efforts to feed hungry people.
Sponsors for Dine Out to Help Out include the Lincoln Journal Star, KFOR, KFRX, ESPN 1480, KZKX, KTGL and The Blaze. Dine Out to Help Out is a centerpiece of Hunger Action Month, being commemorated in September. To view the full restaurant list go to: http://www.lincolnfoodbank.org/dine_out.php
“Lincoln's restaurant community has been a great partner for the Food Bank for 30 years. We are grateful that we can turn to those that specialize in feeding, for help with feeding low-income seniors, kids, families and individuals. This effort has raised over $400,000 dollars to help set our Community's tables,” stated Scott Young, Executive Director, Food Bank of Lincoln.
People who dine out at one of the Food Bank's partner eateries on September 12th will be helping thousands of our area's families get a nutritious meal. With over 50,000 food insecure individuals in Southeast Nebraska, the need is great.
