Dogs Fall to Saints

Former major league pitcher Rodney Myers made his debut in the Northern League for the Lincoln Saltdogs Sunday afternoon and worked six innings, allowing 7 hits and four earned runs, as the St. Paul Saints defeated Lincoln by the score of 8 to 5.  Myers did not walk a batter and struck out to two Saints hitters in his debut.  Lincoln drops to 16-13, while St. Paul improves to 17-12 with the win.  Saints starting pitcher Rich Cartier (4-0) picked up the win and Matt Hammons notched his the save (3), his second of the series.

St. Paul Shortstop Chad Ehrnesberger hit two triples and went 2-5 with 3 RBI, while Billy Munoz hit two home runs and Mike Forbes added a solo shot in the win.

Lincoln hit two home runs in the game.  Brian Warner hit his tenth of the year, a two run blast, and drove in two RBI to add to his league leading total, and Jason Corapci hit his first professional home run and went 2-4 with two RBI.

Lincoln will take Monday off and prepare for a three game series with the Gary Railcats.  First game of the series is Tuesday night at 7:05 pm.
