Dogs survive house fire, need new home

About a month ago, 2 dogs were saved from a house fire. So far, no one has adopted them and if they don't find a good home soon, they will be put down.

Meet Sam, he's a Basenji Chow mix, who's very active and full of life.  He and his sister Mshay are 10 years old and have spent their lives together. Mshay is a lab mix whose heart is full of love. But one March night a fire destroyed their home and took the life of their owner, since then the two have been inseparable.

“We tried to walk them separate, it didn't work. They really need to be with each other and I think a lot of that's because they've been together all their lives and what they've been through…they need each other,” Wilda Lyons of the Coalition for Pet Protection said.

Recently Mshay developed a cough believed to be from smoke inhalation. If you would like to make a donation you can send cash or check to Parkview Animal Hospital and make it out to “Coalition for Pet Protection.”

If you would like to adopt them, they are located at the Parkview Animal Hospital at 10th and High streets in Lincoln.
