More than a dozen furry companions passed the ranks to serve our community Sunday afternoon.

"For anyone who is familiar with a dog, they just make you feel good,” Edu-Pups Director Shawnie Motschenbacher said.

The special K–9’s graduated from the Domesti–Pups therapy program.

The owners and their dogs passed a 12–week training program this summer.

They were rewarded their certificates.

The pets will serve the Lincoln and Omaha area. It’s a service new graduate Lynn Oldenhuis and her dog named Lola are glad to do.

" I just find it rewarding to take the dog, which I love her to pieces, and go out and be of service to the community and hopefully I make an impact,” New Service Graduate Lynn Oldenhuis of Omaha said.”

There were also a number of pet therapy teams that were re certified Sunday.

There are more than 100 dogs in the program between Lincoln and Omaha.
