Earl Hayes Jr. Appear In Court

Earl Hayes Jr. was in court on Friday for taking his son from his home prompting the first amber alert in Lincoln.

He faces six charges, two counts of assault in the second degree, two counts of use of a weapon to commit a crime, false imprisonment and violation of a custody order.

His lawyer repeated the claim that Hayes did it to save his son from being abused. For now Tre remains in his mother's custody. Police continue to investigate the allegations of abuse. No arrests have been made.

Haye's Bail has been set for 25 thousand dollars. His preliminary hearing is set for August 11th.
