Ex-Debate coach accused of sending explicit texts to teen

A former volunteer debate coach at Fremont High School has been accused of sending lewd text messages to a 15-year-old student. Court records say 22-year-old Alexander Bailey, of Fremont, faces a felony charge of enticement by electronic communication device.

An arrest warrant affidavit says Bailey acknowledged sending what were termed “lewd and lascivious'' texts to the girl between Dec. 17 and Jan. 28. The girl's mother had taken the girl's phone to investigators.

According to the affidavit, Bailey texted the girl that she's underage–too young to have a physical relationship with him. A school official says that Bailey no longer volunteers at the school.

There is no phone listing for Bailey. Court records don't list his attorney's name. Bailey's next court date is March 15.
