Ex Neb. officer convicted of 2 sexual assaults

A former Nebraska law enforcement officer has been convicted of sexually assaulting two girls he was baby-sitting. A jury found Terry Stiles, of Liberty, guilty on Friday. The 45-year-old was convicted of two charges of third-degree sexual assault. Prosecutors say Stiles made the girls, ages 8 and 11, touch him inappropriately at a residence in Filley.

The incident allegedly occurred between May and July in 2009. Stiles had worked as a Beatrice police officer, a Gage County sheriff's investigator and at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution Each of the felony charges carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
